Forrest Beiser, Lead Pastor of Glad Tidings Church San Francisco

The GLAD TIDINGS Church that I see is a Church that impacts San Francisco with the message that GOD loves everyone no matter what.

I see a Church where worship is so real and honest that it honors GOD and changes people who are a part of it.  And that impacts each level and segment of our city: Black, White, Asian, Latin, rich, poor, young, old, educated and uneducated.

I see a church that refuses to splinter off into common comfort zones, and strives to live beyond itself building a place that will look like heaven.  We’re convinced that heaven will be a place where people from every nation and background get together because of JESSUS and become their best only when we walk together!

I see a Church that is filled with people hungry to connect with this awesome GOD in a valid, honest way.

The Church that I see has a message so clear that everyone understands that our shared purpose is to love GOD and make HIS love known.

I see a church so focused that it refuses to be self-absorbed, rejects the lie that money is our goal, and is passionate about helping others.

I see a Church so genuine, outward facing, and compassionate that it reaches out in the face of misunderstanding and overturns the judgments many San Franciscans have made against all churches because some churches have failed.

The Church that I see is committed to raising, training and empowering a group of leaders who will look beyond their own needs and carry the GLAD TIDINGS of GOD’s LOVE to hurting, lonely, disenfranchised people.

THIS IS our quest.  This is the dream at GT.  This is our direction, and with GOD’s help we will become this church.

SO WHAT’S ALL THAT LOOK LIKE — REALLY? GT’S A PLACE WHERE PEOPLE WITH PHDS AND THOSE WITHOUT A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA SIT SIDE BY SIDE. GT’S A PLACE WHERE ONE PERSON MIGHT LIKE TO SING LOUDLY AND LIFT THEIR HANDS UP, AND THE PERSON RIGHT NEXT TO THEM MIGHT NOT LIKE TO SING AT ALL AND REMAINS SEATED WITH HIS/HER HANDS IN THEIR LAP. GT’S A PLACE WHERE IT’S OKAY TO STAND UP TO SAY, “AMEN!” DURING A SONG OR MESSAGE, BUT IT’S JUST AS OKAY TO PREFER SITTING QUIETLY AND WRITE DOWN AN INTERESTING POINT OR THOUGHT.  IT DOESN’T MATTER THAT YOU MIGHT LOOK DIFFERENT THAN SOMEONE ELSE, EXPRESS YOURSELF DIFFERENTLY THAN SOMEONE ELSE, OR DRIVE A DIFFERENT CAR THAN SOMEONE ELSE [OR NOT HAVE A CAR AT ALL]. BOTTOM LINE:  WE REJECT THE PARADIGM THAT IS HARSH, JUDGMENTAL, OR NEGATIVE.

  • If you’re looking for a place that’s moving forward but has a rich legacy, join us at GT.
  • If you’re looking for a place where people are convinced that GOD can do anything, join us at GT.
  • If you’re an open-hearted seeker of truth or returning to faith you once had, join us a GT.
  • If you’re just curious about what a friendly, forward moving church looks like, join us at GT.
  • If you want to be challenged to build your faith, join us at GT

Come and take some forward steps with us.  You’re welcome just the way you are!

It will empower you with skills to lead — because you’ll learn by doing it.

It will give you the place to experience ministry.

It will provide you the arena to do all this under the leadership of a mentor who cares and wants you to succeed.

It will pray you through blockages to areas of brokenness.

GT’s Mass Choir is right at the heart of so much of our identity as a church.   First and foremost – choir is about learning to honor God.  Our culture has bought into this myth that giving God priority in our lives will make me miserable, but most often when people have just participated in choir for the first time, they say something like ‘I had no idea how much fun it would be!’  When we lift our hearts and voices to Him, we can’t help but experience His joy and love.
